More in Santiago

On Friday we spent the day getting a few errands done and sightseeing in this historical city. Each visit on 3 Caminos brings new discoveries along with the thrill of seeing walkers arrive while we stroll through the medieval streets.

Walkers lie down or sit in Obradoiro Plaza to mark the end of their journeys.

Pulpo, or octopus, is a Galician delicacy.

"Llaves" -- keys are available at a hardware store discovered while wandering.

Saying "Buen Camino" to Richard, a Swiss peregrino with great 'pilgrim spirit' whom we met in Salceda and who will be walking on to Finisterre

Meigas, or healing witches, are part of Galician culture, and images of them can be seen around town.

Quaint bars and restaurants pack Santiago's old section.

We stopped by Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea that features modern art.

A film crew on location -- not sure what they were filming (?)

An evening snack was enjoyed at another Rick recommendation, Cafe Costa Vella, which has a lovely outside courtyard. However, a cool wind and rain clouds determined the decision to sit inside where it was warm.
